About Jeroen Walstra

Jeroen Walstra is a native of the Netherlands. He grew up around Haarlem where he went to high school and played soccer for the Royal Haarlemsche Football Club. He became a certified physical education teacher. After serving his mandatory service in the Dutch army, Jeroen studied law in the evening while teaching high school.

He achieved a Master of Arts degree and started working for 3M Company in Europe.

3M offered him an opportunity in New York which he took in his early thirties. For family reasons, Jeroen decided to move to Pittsburgh.

Jeroen joined Dr. Cohen in his practice of vocational rehabilitation. He placed persons with disabilities in jobs, assessed economic damages in personal injury matters, taught courses at Chatham and Point Park University, and coached youth soccer.

Jeroen became a member of the American Rehabilitation Economics Association and began to write reports regarding economic damages. He was President of that organization in 2013. He joined the American Board of Vocational Experts in 2012 based on his professional experience. He received Diplomate status and has testified both as an economic and vocational expert. He currently testifies for several Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) as a VE in disability cases.

It was fun for Jeroen to be coaching the Point Park soccer teams and be an assistant for the Riverhounds FC professional team.

Jeroen retired from the soccer positions as the forensic practice took more of his time. He currently lives in Mount Lebanon with his wife, dogs, and his teenage son.
